Mothematics works quite well in my life 数学はけっこう役に立っている

内項と外項の積？内項の積と外項の積？名前なんだっけ I thought that I hated math in my school days. Everyone said the math formulas we learned at school didn't work in our daily life, but now, can't deny the worth of it. Of course most of them are meaningless for me. but I use only one so often.( I don't know how to call it in English) 私は中高生の頃、自分は数学が大嫌いだと思っていたし、学校で習った数学なんて実際の生活には何の役にも立たないと誰もが言っていた。しかし、今は数学の価値を否定できない。もちろんほとんどの数式は私にとってどうでもいいものだが、ひとつだけ頻繁に使うものがあるのだ。 When I need to resize a box its width is 560 and the height is 340 into the one its width is 400, I use the formula. 560:340=400:x 560x=400×340 x=242.8571428 So, round off it and change the height to 243. 幅560・高さ340の四角形を、幅400に変えたい。その場合の高さを求めるとき、 560:340=400:x 560x=400×340 x=242.8571428 ということで、高さを四捨五入して243にする。 Especially, I used to use it everyday in analog graphic design before using computers became popular. For "favorite YouTube" on the right hand, it's 200. ..... while writing this entry, I got anxious, could it be that, other people know better ways?? 特にコンピューターが普及する前の、グラフィックデザインがアナログ作業だった頃は毎日使ったものだが、版下作業をDTPと呼ぶようになってからはこの数式は一旦必要なくなった。しかしながら、インターネットを日常的に使うようになり復活した。ここへ画像を配置するには幅を400に設定し、右側のYouTubeは幅200。 …と、書いているうちに不安になってきたのだが、他の人たちはもっと良い方法を知っているのだろうか？

iPod touch and Moleskine

Canon PowerShot S5IS I bought my iPod touch last winter. As is said widely, it's a palm-sized Mac, not only a music player. I can use the Internet and e-mail with wi-fi when I am out, and if I put my work as image data beforhand, I can show them to other people like easy presentations. I was very glad because it was eco-friendly, made works with paper reduced. I download apps for notes and task list etc. and enjoyed to use them. 昨年の冬、iPod touchを買った。巷で言われているようにiPod touchは単なるミュージックプレイヤーではなく小さなMacだ。無線LANを契約していれば外出先でもインターネットやメールを利用できる。なによりも、自分の制作物を画像データとして入れておけば、その場で簡単なプレゼンを行うことができる。「それまで紙に頼っていた作業をかなり代用できる、エコだ！」と大いに喜んでいた。ノートアプリやタスク管理・ショッピングリストのアプリをダウンロードして使うようになった。 However the new year started, I didn't buy a planner refill. I thought I just needed Calendar app instead, didn't write letters on paper. But it turned out to be wrong soon. I realized I didn't satisfy my desires to write notes and turn over the pages. At the same time, I read some articles about the Moleskine fans who use their Moleskines in unique ways at moleskinerie.jp. I decided to make my old Moleskine into a 3-notebooks diary refer to them and use with iPod touch already became essential. 年が明けてもスケジュール帳のリフィルを買わず、カレンダーアプリで代用した。もはや紙はいらないかも・・・と思ったのもつかの間、数ヶ月過ぎると「書きたい、ページをめくりたい」という欲求が満たされていないことに気付いた。 どうしたものかと考えていた時、モレスキナリー（モレスキンの公式ファンサイト）で紹介されているモレスキンの様々な使い方を見つけた。既にiPod touchは私にとって無くてはならない存在になっているため（依存？）モレスキナリーを参考に改造手帳を作って併用することにした。 Upper right 3 years diary Link Lower right Daily planner, refer to Franklin Covey's diary which I'd used for past two years. Lower left Cover for 3 notebooks Moleskine Link Original bookmark and Franklin Covey's weekly compas - I think monthly is better than weekly for me. 右上：3年日記（参照） 右下：スケジュール帳。過去2年使っていたフランクリン・コヴィーのデイリープランナーを参考に作成。 左上：スケッチ用のカイエ（無地）。スケッチに対する苦手意識を克服したい！ 左下：改造モレスキン用のカバー（参照）。月刊目標が書いてあるブックマークと昨年まで使っていたフランクリン・コヴィーのウィークリー・コンパス。目標を毎週立てるより１ヶ月ごとのほうが私にはあっているようだ。
指先が細い人はもっときれいな字が書けると思いますよ！ It makes me feel strange, but it's ok to write on iPod touch for simple notes. Writing something on paper might become a kind of entertainments in the future. 奇妙な感覚だが、ちょっとしたメモならiPod touchに直接書くだけでじゅうぶんなのだ。これからは紙に字を書くということが一種の娯楽になっていくのかもしれない。

新しいSafariが遅い。それとも私のMacがへん？

I couldn't type well with ipod touch keyboard, so thought about installing firemail at 115yen. But Yesterday I found the news about the new OS.... and, I bought it.(new features) It's free for iPhone users, but iPod touch users(me!) need to pay 1200yen! Anyway, I got landscape keyboard. iPod touchのキーボードでうまく文字を打てなかったので firemail という115円のアプリを入れようかと検討していたところ、昨日 touch に新OSを入れられるというニュースを見つけて・・・入れてしまった。（新機能はこちら） しかし、iPhone ユーザーは無償なのに touch ユーザーは有償で1200円也！ 横打ちキーボードは使えるようになったんだけど。
